    About the work

She does not walk. She arrives.

Wavebot is the most kinetic work in the Futuropia Robots universe a full-body android rendered in a single sustained act of drawing, the pen never hesitating, the line never correcting itself. Diagonal force lines cut across the composition like the wake of something moving faster than the eye can follow. The body is present but barely contained shoulders, torso, legs emerging from a field of gestural energy that belongs as much to abstract drawing as to robot design.

Di Nicolantonio works here with black marker pen at its most uncompromising the black line is absolute, the mark irreversible, the decision permanent. There is no underdrawing, no safety net. What you see is the first and only version of this figure. That velocity is visible in every stroke.

Wavebot does not belong to any of the established Futuropia lineages. She is not Kyumi, not Stella, not Elara. She is something faster a figure defined entirely by movement, by the energy field she generates simply by being in space. In the Futuropia universe, Wavebot exists at the intersection of robotics and choreography: a machine designed not to perform tasks but to perform.

The most gestural work in the Robots series. The most free.
