About the work

Here, the city has forgotten it was ever built. Mushroom-like platforms float on slender stems above a dense undergrowth; circular pools mirror the sky at ground level; interconnected volumes stack and lean into one another with the casual logic of a forest canopy. There is no façade here, no entrance, no hierarchy  only a continuous landscape that happens to be inhabited.

Di Nicolantonio pushes the vocabulary of organic architecture to its furthest edge: the structural and the botanical have become indistinguishable. What reads as a column may be a trunk. What reads as a terrace may be a leaf. The ambiguity is not a weakness, it is the point. This is a city that has made its peace with nature by becoming it.
