The forest did not recede. It was never asked to.

In Sylva, the architecture does not clear the trees to make room for itself, it negotiates entry, pressing its aerodynamic mass between trunks and canopies with the patience of something that has grown here over centuries. Sweeping horizontal bands wrap around a dense organic core; terraces open into green; the structure breathes through every aperture.

This is Di Nicolantonio's most resolved vision of biophilic urbanism not nature as aesthetic gesture, but nature as structural condition. The building exists on the forest's terms. Light filters. Colour bleeds from the canopy into the composition itself, the watercolour wash refusing to stay within the lines of architecture.

Of all the works in the Futuropia Cities series, Sylva is the one you could live in.
