About the work
She is not dressed. She is composed.
Ivory is the most purely couture work in the Futuropia universe a female android silhouette of such formal economy that the line between fashion illustration and sculpture becomes impossible to locate. The skull is smooth, elongated, architectural. The profile is exact. A structured high collar frames a neck of extraordinary length; an asymmetric black epaulière anchors the left shoulder with the deliberate weight of a designer's signature gesture; a long belted robe falls in vertical striations that read as both fabric and exoskeleton, as both garment and body.
Di Nicolantonio draws here with the fluency of a couturier who has understood that the future of fashion is not decoration but structure that what a garment does to the silhouette it inhabits is more important than what it says. Ivory says nothing. It simply stands there, in profile, with the absolute composure of something that has been designed to the point where design disappears.
The name is precise. Ivory is not white. It is white that has aged into something warmer, denser, more irreplaceable a material that carries the history of the object it came from. This silhouette has a history. It shows in the way she holds herself.
In DN — WARDROBE, Ivory is the founding female look the reference against which every subsequent silhouette in the collection will be measured.
